Elegua, Papa Legba Orisha offering candle
Everything chosen to make this ritual offering candle - including color and scent - is known to be a favorite offering of Elegua / Papa Legba. Each ingredient is specially chosen for him. Tobacco, black obsidian, a cowrie shell and key charm adorn this tobacco-scented offering.* This is an 8 oz candle. The tin measures 3" wide x 2" high.
Elegua, also known as Elegba, Papa Legba and Eshu is an Orisha of the crossroads. He is widely worshiped in Yoruba, Latin America and in the Caribbean. As the guard of the crossroads, one must ask permission of Elegua in order to speak to any of the other Orishas. Therefore, offerings must be given to Elegua first. He is known to be a trickster so it's wise to be respectful and consistent with your offerings.
Working with and honoring deities is a basic Pagan practice. As such, bringing offerings to them is a time-honored tradition. With 30+ hours of burn time, you will be able to honor Elegua an hour a day, every day for a month, if you so choose!
*Kindly note that due to the unique nature of hand-made goods and the availability of materials, adornments, ingredients and colors may vary from those shown. But know that each candle will be equally beautiful and perfectly appropriate for each entity.
