Faunus Roman God Offering Candle
Extensive research was done to ensure everything chosen to make this offering candle, including the scent and color, is a perfect offering for the Roman god, Faunus. The adornments specially chosen for him are holly, wormwood, cinnamon, pine, cedar and amethyst.* The candle is scented with cedar or pine and has an approximate burn time of 30 hours. The 8-oz. tin measures 3"x 2".
In ancient times, Faunus was most widely celebrated for bestowing fertility during the Roman festival, Lupercalia. As with nearly all pagan traditions, Lupercalia was "borrowed" by the Christians and is now dubbed Valentine's day.
Faunus is a woodland deity like his Greek counterpart, Pan. Also like Pan, Faunus is a talented musician but, one of his unique talents is that of being an oracular deity. Faunus can tell one's future through dreams or voices that communicate to him through the sounds of nature. Petition him for help with any of these specialties as well as grounding.
*Kindly note that due to the unique nature of hand-made goods and the availability of materials, adornments, ingredients and colors may vary from those shown. But know that each candle will be equally beautiful and perfectly appropriate for each entity.
