Horus Egyptian god ritual offering candle
This offering candle is created for the Egyptian god of the sky: Horus. It's believed one of his eyes is the sun and the other, the moon. Rosemary, selenite, citrine crystals and 24K gold flakes are the adornments chosen for Horus' candle because of their correspondence to the sun and moon as well as fire since that is his element. The candle's scent is frankincense and myrrh (also representative of the sun and moon). It comes in a 3" x 2", 8 oz. tin.*
Set is believed to have killed Horus' father, Osiris. Horus killed Set to avenge his father's death. In the fight, Horus’s left eye (representing the moon) was damaged—this being an explanation of the moon’s phases—and was healed by the god Thoth. The figure of the restored eye (the wedjat eye) became a powerful amulet of protection and knowing. Horus will aid you if you're engaged in some form of conflict. Seek his help in retaliation for wrongs done to you. He can also be petitioned for protection and to defend or restore order to a chaotic situation.
Bringing offerings to pagan deities is a time-honored tradition. With 30+ hours of burn time, you will be able to honor Horus an hour a day, every day for a month, if you so choose!
*Kindly note that due to the unique nature of hand-made goods and the availability of materials, adornments, ingredients and colors may vary from those shown. But know that each candle will be equally beautiful and perfectly appropriate for each entity.
