The Morrigan, Badv / Badb Celtic ritual offering candle
This ritual offering candle is created to honor Badv, or Badb, one of three aspects of the Celtic goddess known as the Morrigan. The candle's scent is night jasmine which corresponds to feminine strength. It's adorned with a black feather, dragon's blood resin - representing the blood of battle, black obsidian and a skull. It comes in a 3" x 2", 8 oz. tin.*
Badv (pronounced BAH-v) is a dark, complex deity associated with death and battle. Her name literally means "crow" which is one of her manifestations. Devotees of Badv call on her psychological powers of terrifying, confusing and intimidating one's enemies. Crows are traditionally known as psychopomps (being able to travel between the worlds of the living and the dead.) In this respect, Badv can also aid in necromancy and divination.
Bringing offerings to deities is a time-honored tradition. With 30+ hours of burn time, you will be able to honor the Morrigan an hour a day, every day for a month, if you so choose!
*Kindly note that due to the unique nature of hand-made goods and the availability of materials, adornments, ingredients and colors may vary from those shown. But know that each candle will be equally beautiful and perfectly appropriate for each entity.
SAFETY NOTE: Please remove the feather and skull bead before lighting the candle! Place the candle in an area away from flammable objects.
